Feminine + Tough (A Study in Contrasts)

I used to think jumpsuits were only for Evil Kenevil, but I've changed my tune in the last few years.  (I wore a short romper here, which helped pave the way for the long version.)  Recently, I found a jumpsuit that I love.  It's silk, ruffled on the top, and perfectly flowy.

It's a perfect summer staple and can easily be dressed down with flat sandals or dressed up with a blazer and heels.  I can tell I'll be wearing it a lot in the next few months...and beyond.

It's made by DKNY and can be purchased here.  There is another great option here, as well as some  other fabulous (and less pricey) options here and here.

Here are the shoes that were peeking beneath (available online now only in a different color), and here is a genius less expensive option that will take you far.  As you may have noticed, I'm all for the studded shoes.  They add an unexpected element to even the most basic of outfits,  and they are especially interesting in the contrast they provide to a feminine outfit like this ruffled jumpsuit.

Studded shoes let everyone (including your kids, if you have them) know that you're not to be messed with.  Sometimes you just need to get this point across, and if your shoes can convey the message, all the better.

Here's to a wonderful week!
