The Fall/Winter 2012 Collections are winding down. And though I'm fervently praying for warmth, sunniness, and Spring/Summer, I'm already excited about next Fall. Here are some of the reasons...

As always, I begin with Celine. I love their designs for their simplicity, wearability, and timelessness. Phoebe Philo makes very few missteps, in my eyes. I also love that, due to the imminent delivery of her third child, she chose not to do a typical runway show with tons of onlookers, and instead did a quiet presentation for a handful of guests. The above look is my favorite from the collection-- in particular I love the blouse. It is so simple and stunning, but with enough interesting detail to make it stand out. And white for Fall/Winter seems cool and different.

I really loved Prabal Gurung's collection for Fall. Though it carried on some themes from his Spring/Summer collection, it also put a renewed emphasis on pants, which I'm always a fan of. He also used a lot of black and white, with his collection starting with darker looks and ending in light. Many looks had long, stovepipe pants, which I'm really drawn to. The above look has the pants, a peplum top, and a belt for emphasis. I'm a huge fan...save the hat.

Again with the hat, but let's just ignore it, shall we? I love this fairly simple dress with its short cape and long gloves. The look is fairly simple, but the cape is a new shape and length, and the long gloves with the short dress brings a certain drama to the look. I'm a fan.
Now you may notice there's no color in these picks. There was plenty of color shown for Fall, but so far I'm attracted to these fairly simple silhouettes and timeless color choices. Also, given that Fall 2012 seems like so far away, there's time to grow into the colors presented. But thus far, I'm really excited about these picks, which are the perfect template on which to build.
How about you? Did you have any favorites?

All will look great in SF!
