I don't know if you've been watching The Rachel Zoe Project spin-off It's a Brad Brad World, with Zoe's former assistant, Brad Goreski, but for me it's been Must-See t.v. each week this season. The season finale was last week and featured the much-anticipated tenth anniversary party of Brad and his partner Gary. It didn't seem like all that climactic a season finale to me prior to viewing it, but boy was I wrong.
I don't want to spoil anything, but I think that the clip below is one of my favorite moments in television. Gary (who is a very successful comedy writer for television) has been planning a surprise for Brad (the secret of which the viewer has not been allowed in on beforehand), and his anxiety about it keeps mounting.
Well, color me shocked with what it was. And let me say (without spoiling anything) that it has made me cry each of the five times I've watched it so far. In case you haven't been watching the show, I perhaps should preface the video by saying that Gary seems the less emotional of the pair, and his sarcastic humor, while awesome, makes him seem a bit more prickly than the loving Labrador retriever- like Brad.
Well, cue to the surprise...

Isn't this priceless? I adore Brad's reaction, although given my own, I can't believe he held it together as well as he did. Later in the show, Gary explains that he took voice lessons for a month to pull it off, and clearly so many of their friends and family had to be practicing furiously as well.
Now, I know it's not just me who had her heart melted by this, because my rather cynical husband seemed to love it as well (although without the sobbing entailed with my viewing). What did you think? Fab anniversary present, no?

wow, definitely brought tears to my eyes. what an amazingly thoughtful thing to do for the one you love. so sweet!
ReplyDeleteI totally cried. I thought it was the sweetest thing ever!
