I've written before about my affection for Gwyneth Paltrow, and it is burning brightly tonight as I watch the Oscars. Holy smokes, Gwyneth. Her white Tom Ford dress with the stunning cape knocks award ceremony looks out of the park. She may, in fact, look better than ever (I'm assuming her mother, Blythe Danner, thinks so, since she recently admitted she didn't like Gwyneth's pink Ralph Lauren dress the night she won the Academy Award.).
For the record, so far I've also loved the looks of Michelle Williams, Rooney Mara, Octavia Spencer, Emma Stone and Meryl Streep (whom I love so much generally, but looks incredible tonight). In fact, everyone looks really lovely. I guess Joan Rivers is going to be having a rough time reviewing the fashions tomorrow.
And, for what it's worth, I'm rooting for The Descendants and George Clooney. His performance (and those of all the women from The Help) were my favorites this year.
**Note following the Oscars: That said, I love me some Meryl Streep and am so thrilled for her to win another Oscar. She is the epitome of talent, hard work, and grace (and she has four children!!). Go Meryl!!
