Valentine's Heart Lights
When I first laid eyes on these Valentine twinkle lights, I knew I had to have them. They are so festive, bright, and fun. I'm looking forward to putting some up in each of my kids' rooms for Valentine's Day. After all, it's mid-winter, spring can't come fast enough, and who couldn't use a little extra twinkle at this time of year? You can buy them here, but I've heard you can find them at some CVS stores as well (though, sadly, not at either of the two closest to me).
Best News I've Heard in a Long Time
I have been mourning the loss of Domino magazine (the style, design, DIY magazine for the home) since it disappeared in 2009. But word on the street is it's coming back (not as a monthly magazine, but in "biannual special editions"). I'd prefer it to be resurrected in the same form as before, but, having experienced life without it, I'll take it in any form!!! How exciting is this?

Pink Pens in honor of Valentine's Day
I am sort of obsessed with pens (and pencils, and stationery, and office supplies generally). I have very specific things I look for in a pen (no smudging or lumpiness in the ink, smoothness of writing, an extra fine tip). These fit all those requirements, and they have a pink option that's fun to use as Valentine's Day (and spring) approach. It's a party in a pen!
Jay-Z and Coldplay-- Lost+
This song combines two things I adore-- Coldplay and Jay-Z. I heard it first in a spinning class and I can't get it off my mind. It's a song I liked in its original version, but I love ten times more in its updated collaboration version.

Gwyneth Paltrow in Harper's Bazaar
I know that Ms. Paltrow elicits divergent reactions in different people, but I am firmly in the pro-Gwyneth camp! I think she's ubertalented, combines family and career in an inspiring way, and her bod post-children is a crazy inspiration to the ultimate degree. These photos from her interview in Harper's Bazaar (the issue hits stands any day now) take my breath away (and make me want to blow the dust of my Tracey Anderson DVDs). These photos are burned into my mind, and I can't get them out. I can't wait to get my hands on the physical magazine, so that I can stare at the pages up close (because that doesn't work so well with a laptop).

ReplyDeletelove the pink and holiday themed lights- i am a sucker for all things holiday inspired. and i find now being a mother i get a lot more into it and perhaps a little cheesier (in a good, fashionable way of course!) :)
Sandra- I know!! I cannot stare long enough at Gwyneth. Then I want to cry, because her perfection is simply too much.
ReplyDeleteI, too, am getting cheesier in motherhood. But I'm pretty psyched about it! Glad I'm not alone. xo
You two are MY inspiration. And when it comes to motherhood, cheesy is good! So, more cheese please! Btw. I love a smooth writing pen too. Thanks for the tips!
ReplyDeleteMJ- you are the sweetest. Go get those pens! My other favorites are these: http://www.amazon.com/Pentel-EnerGel-Liquid-Needle-Barrel/dp/B00006JNIN/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1329187906&sr=8-5
