I didn't used to believe in sweatpants. For the same reason I don't believe in minivans. I just think that, if you are a woman over, say 25, and especially if you are a mother trying to maintain a modicum of style, these things just work against you.
But this all changed a year ago (no, not the minivan part. I still hold fast on that belief.). A friend introduced me to Kings of Cole sweats, and holy moly. Now I believe!! I believe!
Kings of Cole sweats are sooooo comfortable. They are made of what must be the softest (and thickest) material. Put them on, and they make you feel like you're lounging-- even if you're not. They also come in a wide array of colors-- and now for Spring they also come in some really fun, bright colors (think bright yellow and pink).
They were designed to feel as though you're borrowing your man's sweats (think baggy, soft, comfortable), and they certainly fit that bill. Did I mention they're soooooo comfortable? Sort of like wearing a cloud might feel, I would think. They also have unusual rose gold zippers and metal details.
I've also recently discovered another cool purveyor of loungewear. Monrow makes really great sweats (of a thinner variety than Kings of Cole), also in a bunch of fun colors.
Now, would I recommend wearing these out-and-about? Should they become your new uniform for meetings or nights on the town? Perhaps not. But if you want to feel like you're relaxing while you're at home (even if you don't have the time to relax) put them on as soon as possible.

Monrow sweats are cut for a woman (and the fabric is a bit thinner and less pillowy than the Kings of Cole), but still chic and loungy (a pretty rare combination).
ooh i love the pink pullover. i remember how comfy yours looked in FL last year. it is nice to feel somewhat pulled together even when you are at home "lounging"- and i use that word loosely! :)
ReplyDeleteSandra- They're so comfy that I don't know what to do. I look forward to putting them on each night. Ahhhh, relaxation (sort of) ;-)
