Sparkle + Shine

So, I contemplated these sequined pants for a long time.  They are so far outside my normal safe comfort zone, but something about them spoke to me.  As I've mentioned before sequins are everywhere right now, and these pants seemed like a really fun way to add sequins into my wardrobe.  So after thinking about them for a long time and pondering their assets, I took the plunge.

Pants: Calypso, Asymmetric Tee: Splendid, Sweater: Stella McCartney (old), Shoes: Christian Louboutin (old), Bag: Valentino

Here they are in all their glory.  Because I'm not normally one to wear sequined pants, I chose to tone them down with a grey tee and sweater.

Here is their beautiful pattern as taken from the back seat of the car on the way to dinner.

For the faint of heart, beware.  These pants get a lot of head-turning looks.  Everywhere I went that night, heads were snapping to look at them.  I'm clearly taking more fashion risks these days, because that didn't faze me.  My former self would have spent a good portion of the night fretting that I'd really gone too far this time with all the looks I was getting from strangers (looks directed specifically at my pants).  But the pants are so comfortable, so much fun, and so different, that I really felt great.   Now I just need to figure out where I'm wearing them next!
