Military Operation

I'm kind of obsessed with military jackets, and I have been for a year and a half.  Last fall, olive was the It color.  I bought all kinds of olive items, though I'd never owned much olive at all in my life prior to that.  I had a pair of drab cargo pants from Abercrombie & Fitch when I was in law school that I nearly wore right out.  But I'd never had an olive shirt, for instance.

Well, last year that all changed.  While I was pregnant with my second child and planning my post-pregnancy wardrobe, I bought all kinds of olive pieces.  Shirts, sweaters, a Vince military jacket...

Well, fast-forward to today.  I have given away nearly all my olive pieces, and my Vince military jacket, so beloved, has gone AWOL.  I've been searching for an appropriate replacement (because I realized, I actually don't look fab in olive, but as a jacket on top of other more me-- read black-- colors, it is quite nice), and recently, I think I found it.  Here it is:

The leather sleeves add a bit of structure (and more of my beloved noir hue).  It's not warm (* note to anyone in a cold winter climate-- this isn't an appropriate winter coat for reeeeeeallly cold days), but darn, I love it.  It looks great on top of nearly everything (note the sheer dress in the above photo), and it's so rad.  I think I found my replacement.
