Stunning (and Stunned)

I was at a friend's birthday party a few weeks ago (one of those stylish friends who always looks like a million bucks, even when her hair is in a ponytail and she's wearing jeans), and she had on the most smashing yellow dress I'd ever seen. When I hugged her I noticed 1) the fabric felt really nice and 2) I could feel her back because the dress has a V-back (oooh, fancy!!).

I had to know where it came from. I was mentally preparing myself to hear Bottega Veneta, or something of the sort. I was mentally calculating, "Hmmm... I don't wear much yellow... so I'm not sure I could spend a ton for that dress... but it looks like a zillion dollars on my friend (whom I've never seen in yellow before), so maybe it's worth it..."

Cue to my stunned reaction when she said it cost $90 from Zara (which now has an e-commerce site-- finally!!). It's still on the website (see here), but it also comes in a (perhaps more Jackie-inspired) black. Run, do not walk, over!! But beware, my friend says it runs small (and it really does look lovely when it's not at all tight to the body).
