Inspired by: Jenna Lyons

I've written before about Jenna Lyons (see here).  The way she wears clothes is an absolute inspiration.  She puts them together in such an unexpected way that seems so right.

Here is a photograph of Ms. Lyons taken the other day during New York Fashion Week (designers are showing their collections for Fall 2012).   Her outfit is so inspired, I haven't been able to forget it.  There are always one or two outfits that really shine above the rest during the month-long intercontinental expedition called fashion "week," and this season Ms. Lyons seems to be pulling ahead of the pack.

Her colorblocked pants, jean jacket, and cape resting on her shoulders equal an unforgettable look- all at once laid-back and dressy.  Her Celine pants are absolutely gorgeous (and unfortunately no longer available), but I've approximated the look for much less below so that you, too, can be inspired by Jenna Lyons.

  6. I'm glad you're liking the outfits, gals! I aim to please. :) I want so badly to be able to pull of that look.

And Sabina, a cool denim jacket will take you far!! You can wear it 3 seasons of the year (maybe 4, depending on how cool your nights get or how much air conditioning is on). It's pricey, but J Brand is always great. So is J. Crew.

    xo
