Printed Matter

Sweater: J. Crew; Pants: J. Crew; Purse: Proenza Schouler (old, similar here); Leather Jacket: Balenciaga (old, similar here) or here; Shoes: Converse (old, similar here)

I've mentioned printed pants enough lately that I wanted to try them out myself.  I also tried the whole patterned ensemble (you may have seen a new trend toward wearing the same print on top and bottom), and I just couldn't pull it off.  It screamed "a trendy look in 2012" to me, and I just couldn't go that far.

So I broke it up with a contrasting color on top and sneakers (to keep the whole "look" thing to a minimum-- after all, my husband and I were just going out to the movies).  I felt good about the final outcome, but that may just be me.  If nothing else, I was very comfortable (even if my husband insisted it'll be a month before the weather in our city is appropriate for this outfit).

What do you think?  Yay?  Nay?  Put on some real shoes?

  2. Sandra, you're funny! This was definitely me putting in an effort for a date night (which I do tend to do, because it's often my only chance to get "dressed up" during a week, and I love getting dressed up.) But maybe you're right, in the city there's competition from young folks who aren't running around after kids all the time, so you have to step up your game (if you want to, anyway). :) You always look fab anyway. I think it's just your pregnant belly talking. :) xo
