Zipped + Pleated

A night out this weekend resulted in one of my favorite outfits in some time.  It involved two elements that are at the ready now: sports-inspired stripes and pleating details.

Pants: 3.1 Phillip Lim (similar here and here); Blouse: Celine (similar here and here); Shoes: Celine (similar here); Clutch: Bottega Veneta (old; similar here and here); Bracelet: Hermes

First up: these fabulous 3.1 Phillip Lim pants with contrasting black stripes at the side (The 3.1 Phillip Lim Spring/Summer 2012 collection was not only the originator of the unusual mixtures of pastels that have captured my imagination, but also a purveyor of the sports-inspired side stripe detail).  The stripes can alternately be revealed and hidden by ingeniously placed zippers.  I am smitten.

Add to these interesting trousers an equally unusual blouse- complete with a fixture of spring/summer 2012 fashion-- pleating, but done in such an unorthodox way.  Check it out:

To wit: the pleating is featured only in the back, and in an asymmetric shape that lends itself to drama (it makes for a striking exit as you leave a room).  I call it: fancy pants and fancy blouse.  I love them both.

Here's to a wonderful week!!

  4. Oh man. I really love so much about this.

First of all, I would do some pretty naughty things to get my hands on a pair of those pants.

Second, I adore the detail on the back of your shirt in addition to how it is longer in the back. It's really classy, and kinds of lends an air of sophistication to the sportswear pink pants (which, don't get me wrong, are phenomenal, as I believe I've mentioned;))

Finallyyyy-Lovin' the heel on those shoes.

Really cool sense of style. :)
